Pertaining to lack of blog updates

So I have realized that i need to start documenting what I'm doing WAY more often on this here blog.
so within the next week One Of my prime objectives will be to get this blog up to date with all my projects that have ben going on.

soon i will try to have my typography project uploaded and posted
as well as the process of constructing the 12" inch letter form for color drawing and form along with the 6" letter, and any other things i cant think of at the moment.

Paragraph One

My perception of this world is very fond of me.  In the immediate proximity of my location on this gigantically small world Is small part of Kansas City known as, Westport.

West port is my home in the third dimension. This part of the big city contains all the things my mind is aware of when I notice. All these things are made from lines of all sorts and sizes and different relevant similarities. This book of selected as well as crafted images are a few things I took the time to notice and create within this small town. From the creation process of this book I have realized no matter how small your world is it is still gigantic in comparison of something else with all the angels and curves and strait on perceptions it contains.

Paragraph Two

In Westport you can find many things, objects, places, and people. All of these things no matter what they are have one thing in common with each other. everything you perceive in this world is made up of points and lines. These elements can be curved , diagonal or as strait as an arrow. Lines are everywhere, and relate to each other more then anything else in this world. Every angle can have a reflection, every line will continue is space, wether it be physical or metaphysical space inside your imagination.

Paragraph Three

Lines can turn up or around anything. Don’t believe me? then take a walk through the pages of this book. then when your done, take a walk into your world. Everything around you is made up of lines. Every curve, angle, edge, face, rock, tree, door, window, cloud, car, and everything else can be seen as lines. all these lines can relate in many ways as well depending on placement size or similarity. This book contains lines that were photographed in Westport in Kansas City, Missouri as well as hand crafted lines from various methods and assembled to create contrasting similarity between the physical world and the world of lines.

Interesting architectural find lovely organic curvy structure

So there i was browsing the internet for images of mushrooms for my typography project and I came across this project being constructed. The project is the remodeling of Plaza de la Encarnacion in, Seville, Spain.


This project features very elegant organic curved structures resembling a small clutch of mushrooms. The buildings will eventually contain a farmers market, bars, shops, as well as landmark to serve as a center space for the city for its occupents and tourists.
Im absolutly blown away by the design of this structure. An outstanding use of space, and the contrast between its surrounding structures will help it stick out on the map like the landmark they want it to be.

juxtaposition response

juxtaposition, <----- Big word ,yet useful design element. after reading the article i didn't really have any awesome thoughts spark other then some skepticism.    from my understanding juxtaposition is two unrelated images, articles, or physical objects that relate with each other visually. Useful for a designer when intentional and the sense of it is highlighted, or obvious depending on focal points and eye movement. what I was skeptical about was the times pages and the add on page three relating to the article visually. Ok, thats pretty neat, but if i could barely see the resemblance between the shape of some some sailors hat and a diamond earring or the point to make such a connection, how is some one not aware juxtaposition supposed to make such a connection? and what importance dose it make necessarily.  If the symbol on the guys hat, which is microscopic compared to the size of the image,  how could one make that connection unless squinting with the goal in mind of finding such a similarity.  Its like saying "hey! that cloud looks exactly like Jon doe when he did ___ on april/1/ 1890.


so my point here is juxtaposition can be a very kick ass design element when intentional, or the visual connection can be seen in an obvious manor.  something as subtle as some of the articles examples just don't really make to much sense to me. why? because why would i need to make a connection between some fallen beams of a blown up building and pretty rectangle shaped diamond earrings i cant afford?


how ever some examples were very good examples of juxtaposition. such as the follow the finger add and the movie poster.   follow the finger said " skip work" and point to movie poster.


chained thought i get from that is " skip work and go see a movie!"


rather then a poor example of hey these people are refugees, look at this demolished building; and these lovely earrings are made of finely crafted diamonds and are shaped like this demolished building's beams.


sorry but if i made that connection i would not buy those earrings cause i would be overcome by the thought of the demolished buildings.




juxtaposition can be useful if intended by designer, but allot of the times i think its useless unless its a happy accident.
